Redford's Difficulties In Finding Suitable Roles
The ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN star carefully chooses the parts presented to him, but admits he has a tough time wading through the numerous scripts.
He tells British magazine Empire, "The fascination is with different kinds of films than the ones I'm interested in.
"It's harder to get the money for those films. It's easier to get money for a large action films that costs $150 million, like ALEXANDER and KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.
"But the films I'm interested in, they don't get much money because the studios don't see that there would be a return from them. Studios are more likely to invest in those types of movies rather than unique, darker, more reality-based stories."
Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Tops Uk Box Office
The TIM BURTON movie, which stars JOHNNY DEPP, took GBP7.9 million ($14.2 million) over the course of its opening weekend (29-31JUL05), after spending two weeks at number one in the US chart.
Superhero movie Fantastic Four passed animated caper MADAGASCAR on its way down to number three, which sits at number two for the second week in a row.
Comedy WEDDING CRASHERS and STEVEN SPIELBERG's WAR OF THE WORLDS both dropped a place to numbers four and five respectively.
Norton Explains His Uncredited Role In Kingdom Of Heaven
The twice-Oscar nominated actor believed his part as KING BALDWIN in the historical epic had to be as low key as possible, because it would benefit the characterisation of ORLANDO BLOOM's lead role.
Norton tells British magazine Empire, "I didn't want to be billed because Orlando Bloom's character keeps hearing about him.
"There's this anticipation, this big mystery about him. It's the whole point.
"And it was a free trip to Morocco!"
